Extending Reality

Extending Reality is a case study in mixed reality techniques for film. This project demonstrates a truly generative workflow, with 100% of screen content, including the titles, being generated and composited in-camera. Using a combination of Stype camera tracking, BlackTrax object tracking, disguise media servers, and Notch for real-time graphics generation, we were able to forge ahead into new territories of filmmaking while preserving the collaborative spontaneity that made us fall in love with filmmaking in the first place.
